She has a real voice - somewhere between Karen Carpenter and Snow White - one of those voices from a valve microphone and an orchestra, but Tara operates with the voltage of modern electricity so there are much starker and darker things there - things I hadn't heard before and you want to hear them again, just to make sure she really did that. Then you get the electronics - a crawling low Moog, eccentric arrangements with their own absolute internal logic, a gorgeous dark glamour and a beautifully twisted take on modern song. You realise she can write. She can invent. She can really play. And she's only just begun."
